Our Story
Built by trades, for trades
— for the legacy, not just the exit.
TradeReins exists for one reason: trades-business owners deserve a real, structured way to hand their life's work to someone who will run it like they did. Not a listing board. Not a roll-up. A managed 21-step succession — from first conversation to post-close support.

21-step handoff process
TradeReins was built in 2024 after watching too many trades-business owners — contractors, plumbers, electricians, HVAC operators — spend thirty or forty years building a business, then lose it at the finish line. The shop that built the local hospital's mechanical room for two decades closes six months after the owner retires because the "buyer" was a private-equity aggregator with a 24-month flip window and no plan for the journeymen who actually ran the jobs.
We built TradeReins to be the opposite. Match a retiring owner with a vetted operator who has the trade credentials, the financial readiness, and the long-term intent to run the business for the next 20 years. Then manage the entire handoff — valuation, financing structure, transition trial period, license transfer, customer introductions, and post-close support — through a structured 21-step process.
We are not a listing site. We are not a private-equity roll-up. We believe trades businesses should stay locally owned, operator-led, and — where it serves both sides — owner-financed by the people who built them. Every business on TradeReins is run by a person who chose the trade. That's the only kind of buyer we place.
